Privacy Policy
Evolve turns what you do into character stats. It does that entirely on your phone.
The short version
Evolve has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. It never sends your data anywhere we can see it. Your tasks and stats live in a database on your device, and — if you choose — sync through your own private iCloud account, which we cannot read.
1. Who this covers
This policy explains how the Evolve iOS app ("the App") handles your information. It applies to everything the App does on your device. We do not operate a website account, a backend service, or an advertising network attached to the App.
2. What the App stores on your device
Everything you enter into Evolve is written to local storage on your phone:
- Tasks — the title you type, an optional scheduled date and time, its status, and the stat rewards attached to it.
- Your event log — a timestamped record of completions and meals, which is what your level, XP, stats, and history are derived from.
- Profile — the display name you choose, your join date, and (optionally) a profile picture you pick from your photo library.
- Preferences — which reminders you have switched on and whether onboarding is done.
- STR
- STA
- KNW
- MND
- HUN
None of this is transmitted to us. The App contains no code that uploads your content to any server we run or contract.
3. iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, Evolve keeps your tasks, event log, and profile in sync across your own devices using Apple's CloudKit private database. Data in a private database is stored under your personal Apple Account.
- The developer of Evolve cannot access, read, or export anything in your private database.
- Apple's handling of that data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
- Sync is off wherever you are not signed in to iCloud, and you can disable it for Evolve in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud. The App keeps working offline.
4. Your photo library
Choosing a profile picture asks for permission to open your photo library. Evolve reads only the one image you select, copies it into its own storage, and uses it as your avatar. It never scans, indexes, or uploads your library. You can decline the permission — the App works fine with the default avatar.
5. Understanding what you type
When you write a task in plain language, Evolve works out which stats it should reward. That analysis runs entirely on your device, using a small language model bundled inside the App. Your task text is never sent to a cloud service, an AI provider, or anyone else.
6. Notifications
Reminders — task reminders, the evening planning nudge, low-hunger warnings, and the weekly recap — are local notifications. Your device schedules and delivers them itself. There are no push notifications, so no notification token or message content ever leaves your phone.
7. What the App does not collect
- No name, email address, password, or account of any kind
- No device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV) and no advertising ID
- No location data
- No analytics, crash-reporting, or attribution SDKs
- No cookies, pixels, or cross-app tracking
- No contacts, calendars, health data, or microphone access
Because nothing is collected, nothing is sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties — for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose.
8. Third parties
The App bundles no third-party analytics or advertising services. The only external party involved is Apple, and only in the roles Apple already plays for every iOS app: distributing the App via the App Store and, if you enable it, storing your private iCloud data. If you email us for support, your message is also handled by your own email provider under its policy.
9. Children's privacy
Evolve is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the App collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to review or delete — but if you have a concern, please write to us.
10. Security
On-device data is protected by iOS file-system encryption and app sandboxing: no other app can read Evolve's storage. Data synced to iCloud is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Keeping a device passcode enabled is the single best thing you can do to protect it.
11. Keeping, exporting, and deleting your data
- Retention — your data is kept for as long as the App is installed. There is no server-side copy with its own retention clock.
- Deleting individual items — remove a task in the App and it is deleted on your device and on your other devices at the next sync.
- Deleting everything — uninstalling the App removes all local data. To also clear the iCloud copy, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Evolve and delete its data.
Because we hold no copy of your information, we cannot fulfil an access, correction, or deletion request on your behalf — you are already in full control of every copy that exists.
12. Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal data a company processes about you. Evolve's design means we process none: we are not a controller of your task, profile, or stat data, and we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. Your data stays with you and with Apple's services under your own Apple Account.
13. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the App changes how data is handled, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
